Boiling peanuts that weren't dried first

We forgot the initial drying period when harvesting peanuts we had grown and took the peanuts off of the vine...can they still be washed and boiled as usual?

It depends on several factors.

When did you dig them? How were they stored since they were dug? How long has it been?

Fresh dug peanuts need to be either dried, boiled, refrigerated, or frozen within a few hours after harvesting, or they will spoil. Green peanuts may have as much as 50% moisture by weight. This moisture will promote bacteria growth at room temperature, and above. Raw legumes like this should be refrigerated at 40ºF or below, or frozen to 0ºF or below, per the FDA.
